Californian Alek Lisefski is a web designer who decided build his dream home, but his is not your typical house.
Instead of going into massive debt for hundreds of thousands of dollars like most homeowners, he built his home for the remarkably low price of $30,000. It’s only 8 feet by 20 feet. That’s not as unusual as you might think.
So-called “tiny homes” are a bit of a rage lately, as rents are climbing and home prices are surging higher again.
This remarkable tiny house is quite livable and it’s mobile. This is what Lisefski has to say about his home:
1.) “Without room to hoard things and hide away from the world, I’ll be forced to spend more time outdoors, in nature and engaging with my community.”
2.) “My name is Alek Lisefski. I live with my beautiful girlfriend, Anjali, and our angel of a dog, Anya. Go ahead and say it: that’s a lot of “A” names.”
3.) “With no more rent to pay, I’ll save money, allowing for a less hectic work life and more time and funds for health, leisure and travel.”
4.) “I won’t be able to keep closets full of clothes or store 5 year old trinkets in a house so small.”
5. “The tiny house movement is rapidly gaining popularity in the US and elsewhere around the world.”
6.) From the living area, looking towards the kitchen in the back and the loft area above.
9.) The short ladder takes you to the bedroom loft.
