South Florida’s luxury-condo bubble just got much bigger as a Miami Beach penthouse set a new record price for a single home in the Miami area — selling for $60 million.
Last year, reports emerged that Faena House – a super-luxurious property in the heart of Miami Beach – had sold its penthouse, which had been listed at mind-boggling $50 million. However, the buyer and the final price weren’t disclosed at the time.
Faena House has now confirmed the final price for its rooftop suite: a breath-taking $60 million. (Rendering above from Faena House.)
That price shatters the previous record for any single-family home in Miami – $47 million paid by an unnamed Russian buyer for an Indian Creek mansion (30,000 square feet) in 2012. The condo record of $27.5 million was set in 2014 ($3,342 per square foot) at the Continuum. Those looking for their own slice of luxury in Miami may want to check out the apartments for rent in Kendall in order to live the good life in the sun and by the sea, perhaps as a way of escaping the cold elsewhere in the country.
The Faena House penthouse features 8 bedrooms, 12,516 square feet of interior space, plus 9,900 exterior square feet. That comes to $4,794 per square foot.
There’s also a 70-foot-long rooftop pool with views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Miami skyline. It has been said that this is one of the most unique properties on the market. Given the views, location, and size. It’s a win-win for a multi-millionaire.
